I have been looking forward to writing this post as I am OBSESSED with White Rock Vineyards. Located in the heart of Napa, CA this family ran winery is literally built into white volcanic rock lending it both its name and fantastic, unique flavors for its wine.

I cannot say enough good things about White Rock Vineyards wine! I tend to lean towards big, oaky, buttery whites, yet, I LOVE their 2014 Chardonnay that is bright in acidity with flavors of lemon zest and green apples (I am actually drinking this right now as I write this post wooohoo!). Their Reserve Chardonnay is exactly my style! It undergoes half mal0lactic fermentation giving it the buttery, oak flavor that I LOVE. I ALWAYS come home with numerous bottles of this Chardonnay and this time was no different (so did Janell)! The 2012 Claret (and every other vintage of this wine) is beyond words. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Verdot, and Cab Franc this wine is very fruit forward with complex, big flavors that finish very smoothly. Again, I ALWAYS bring a bottle or two of this one home with me! Lastly, but not least, is the Laureate. If there is ever a time where you are willing to or looking to purchase a $80 of wine…this is it! This wine is very intense, yet balanced, with lots of fruit, dark chocolate, a little licorice, and I even got a hint of cigar. The case production at White Rock Vineyards is fairly small (and they go fast!) so if you ever have the opportunity to purchase a bottle, do!
